(pre) DAY 1

Our journey began with the ferry crossing from Holyhead to Dun Laoghaire on Friday 27th May. We were met in Dun Laoghaire by the other half of the team, along with their son Andrew and the hired truck. We set off on the road straight away to Mizen head, the most southern point in Ireland,in Co Cork. We arrived there about five or six hours later, at 7pm. We knew we only had about 10 miles to cycle till we reached our B&B, Carraig Mor House, between Schull and Goleen. Proper cycling would begin next day! We had a lovely meal in Schull that night and a few pints of Guinness to get us on track!
